The RiverRidge Foundation operates from two primary locations:

The Northern Virginia Lions Youth Camp - This is where our students/ campers reside during their overnight stays.  Our studies here focus on the components of a mountain habitat.  We make observations and comparisons and seek answers to questions like: Why do certain species thrive in the mountains, while others are found in small quantities (if at all) within the river valley?  Why can some species thrive in both environments?  What will happen to these species if our climate continues to get warmer?  Students/ campers also get an opportunity to complete an orienteering course completed by the boy scouts.

The Burwell - van Lennep Land Trust - Here, students and campers are introduced to
The Blue Ridge Wildlife Center's wildlife restoration successes, and interact with some of Dr. Burwell's educational wild animals.  They also engage in the Smithsonian's Conservation and Research Center's Biodiversity Monitoring Project, engage in a pond study, and explore the Shenandoah River valley.
