The RiverRidge Foundation For Environmental Research and Education is a nonprofit, 501 (c)(3) corporation that produces environmental education courses. These courses blend problem-based learning modules, Web 2.0 activities, and hands-on field research experiences and are accredited through Virginia Commonwealth University.
The mission of The RiverRidge Foundation has four objectives:
1) to create an understanding and appreciation of Earth’s natural habitats, (2) to generate a public concern for local
and global environmental quality, (3) to develop a well informed community
of citizens who make smart environmental decisions, and (4) to share research
results with a global community.
The educational philosophy, inherent in all our programs, is centered around adventure, exploration, and discovery.
